PHOTOGRAPHY
Global Health Photographer: Kali Auckly
Throughout the years, Kali has traveled to farms in Thailand, climbed volcanoes in Indonesia, and driven through the beating heart of East Africa--always keeping to her primary focus of observing and capturing truth. In 2018, she designed and implemented community-based projects in Kenya and India where she was focused on using multimedia tools for capturing the first person perspective of rural farmers and women. In India, she created a documentary that spoke to women’s lived experience and the importance of underutilized and neglected fruit species; and in Kenya she implemented a Photovoice technique with rural farmers that captured a “day in the life" and facilitated critical dialogue around policy change.
Photographer: Sarah Arnoff Yeoman
After starting in the nonprofit world working with Indigenous communities around the West, Sarah moved on to photograph a wide array of stories for various publications. She firmly believes that communities are not defined by their problems and that photography is a medium of power dynamics that shapes how we are seen. Dedicated to creating images that portray underexposed communities as they wish to be seen, she continues to work with nonprofits around the world to tell stories that do more than scratch the surface.
